If you do not feel safe, e.g. when you are out walking or at work. What will you do about it, or what can you do about it? Do you just let it be the way it is or do you start thinking you are going to do something about it? Correct training makes a difference!
What options do you have?
Start training martial arts. Get you self some pepper spray, assault alarm?
None of the above is a bad idea!
But here is a reality check!
If you will start training, go for it. If you buy some spray, even if it is illegally, go for it, alarm, why not.
But what is more important is your body language. Now, many will say. –Yea right, just as it would make a difference!
It will. That is your starting position. The rest is secondary.
We can go on telling you how to change your body language, you can see it online, read a book, but it will never be as good as getting trained by a pro.
I (Roberth) started teaching self-defence in the late 80, as I saw that the current method was not an ideal way to teaching, because it takes years to be good in martial arts, no matter what style it is.
And I noted that training in a dojo or in a ring is not the same as outdoor or in inside a store for example. Further to that; If someone attack you outside your “gym” it is a total difference in mentality and situation.
So, the first thing should you do is to start thinking about is your body language, which will help you in most cases, regardless of your level of knowledge of any self-defence technique.
Would you like to learn how?
